First National Medicare Week: Some cuts don’t heal

For the first time, communities across Canada joined forces to hold a week of action on Medicare. The theme of the week reflected the growing awareness that cuts to federal transfer payments and the spread of private, two-tier health care jeopardizes Medicare and other national social programs. As a follow up to the week, the first national lobby of Members of Parliament on Medicare was organized by the CHC in collaboration with the Canadian Labour Congress.
